Pregnancy Circle in Woodbridge

A monthly gathering for mamas to be. Ninety minutes to slow down, breathe, and start building your circle of support.

Join our nurturing Pregnancy Circle, a monthly space made specifically for expectant mothers to step out of the busyness for a while and spend some time on themselves, their body, and the baby they are growing.

Ninety minutes is not long in the scheme of things, but it turns out to be exactly enough. People arrive a bit frazzled and leave noticeably softer.

Light studio with mats, bolsters and sheepskins arranged in a circle around a decorated centrepiece, ready for a pregnancy circle session.

What happens in a circle

Each month we take a different birth preparation topic and work through it together, gently, without anyone being put on the spot. Alongside the discussion there is:

  • Gentle pregnancy safe movement
  • Guided relaxation to deepen the connection between mind and body
  • Time to talk and share with other local mamas to be
  • A welcoming space where you can actually feel heard
  • No pressure to contribute if you would rather sit and listen. Plenty of people do exactly that for the first one and then cannot stop talking by the third.

What you'll learn

  • How your body works during labour and birth, and why that matters
  • Breathing techniques for comfort, focus and staying in control
  • Deep relaxation and guided meditation to reduce anxiety
  • How to let go of fear built up from other people’s stories
  • Practical comfort measures and positions for labour
  • How your birth partner can genuinely support you, with a real job to do
  • Your choices and options, and how to ask the right questions
  • Creating a calm birth environment wherever you give birth
  • Preparing for the birth you want and the ones you have not planned for

Who it is for

Anyone pregnant, at any stage, whether this is your first baby or your fourth. You do not need to have done a course with me, and you do not need to know anybody. Coming alone is completely normal and most people do.

Why a circle rather than a class

Preparing for birth on your own, from the internet, at eleven at night, is a particular kind of exhausting. Doing some of it in a room with people at the same stage takes a surprising amount of weight off.

It is also how the village starts. The people you meet here are the ones who will be messaging you at 3am in six months time, and that matters more than almost anything I could teach you.
